What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathic medicine is a diagnostic and therapeutic system based on the premise that the primary role of the physician is to facilitate the body's inherent ability to heal itself. Osteopathic principles are grounded in the theory that biological systems (such as the human body) are naturally harmonious and whole; not a collection of separate parts. This understanding is applied to the treatment and healing of the entire person, rather than responding only to their symptoms in a crisis-oriented, one-spot approach.
